![]() ![]() That happened to us the first time, but it didn’t happen after that because we tightened the procedures. Make sure you keep it in line when you operate the ratchet or it will interfere with the operation. While the carabiner strap will not catch on the ratchet, the loose end can. Be careful when tightening the Aerofast mount. Yes, it can be done with belts with cam buckles, but it’s not as easy on a street bike as it is on a dirt bike. Once in place, press down on the handle to lock it in place. Be sure to resist the temptation to tighten, as the ratchet lever makes it easy. The operation is smooth and safe, allowing precise tension to be applied. The strap is easy to tighten and the ergonomic rubber case with main ratchet lever is comfortable in the hand. It prevents the belt from twisting, preventing it from entering the ratchet at an angle and jamming. A great convenience is the swivel carabiner on the side of the vehicle. This isn’t a problem if you have everything jammed, but it makes it easier to single-load. The Aerofast has clips on its cam buckles, so we don’t know why the clips are left on these ratchets. ![]() Aerofast belts are also compatible with steering wheel straps and PSR bicycle clamp. We would like to see a locking clip on the hook for the soft screed. Right off the bat, the Aerofast Ratchet and Swivel Carabiner Motorcycle Mounts have two features that we love. We’ve heard good things about the Aerofast Ratchet and Swivel Carabiner Motorcycle Mounts, so we’re putting them to the test. However, heavier short-travel street bikes are better secured with ratcheting mounts. We love the traditional (and simple) cam buckles for motorcycles.
